Following from their success on Stage 1 of the prestigious SSWA Desalination Plant just south of Perth Western Australia, the joint venture partners recently also awarded the contract for the precast requirements for Stage 2 of the project to Permacast.
Permacast supplied and installed 17,000 square meters of precast wall panels as well as supplying 1,600 tonnes of large box culverts and lids for Stage 1 of the project.
Permacasts in house engineering team and technical capacity again came to the fore with the use of S50 low heat cement mixes (uncommon for precast production), being used in order to acheive the specified 100 year design life.
By aid of their modern production facility in Cardup, Permacast were able to manufacture an average of 200sqm of panel per day to help meet the clients tight construction programme.
Storage of over 450 panels prior to delivery was made easy with the vast storage area available at the Permacast Cardup facility.
Having produced a high quality product meeting the project specific custom specifications as well as other technical and logistical expectations of the project, Permacast were the clear choice for ensuring success on Stage 2 of the project.
