The Southern Seawater Desalination Plant is another major project PERMAcast has completed. We were awarded the main contract to supply precast façade walls for various buildings on the site. We also supplied underground electrical tunnels for the site. This involved producing 60 large inverted box culverts and 100 precast covers and Permacast designed and manufactured purpose-built steel moulding to suit the construction requirements.

A design life of 100 years was specified for the products supplied by Permacast. In order to meet this requirement, all units were poured using a S50 low heat concrete mix. For precast it is rare to produce using this mix due to the slow gain in early strength. Permacast was able to produce products daily because of our large facility and commitment to meeting the client needs.
